Can passengers (and children) ride along in a rented supercar?

Updated: July 17, 2026

Short answer

Yes, passengers can ride along, but every passenger must be 18 or older. A passenger does not need to be listed on the rental agreement; only a second driver must be added and approved. Seat count decides how many can come: four of our six cars seat one passenger, the BMW M2 seats up to three, and the five-seat Lamborghini Urus S seats four.

Yes, you can bring a passenger, as long as they are 18 or older. A passenger is anyone who rides but never drives, and they do not need to be on the rental agreement. The rule only tightens when a second person wants to take the wheel, because then they become a driver and have to be approved first. Children and teens cannot ride along, so car seats and boosters never come into play.

That split, passenger versus driver, is most of the answer. The rest is the seat count of the car you pick. Below is exactly how each works and which cars seat more than one.

A passenger rides along. A second driver has to be approved.

The line that matters is who touches the steering wheel. A passenger who is 18 or older can hop in with no paperwork. You do not add them to the contract, because they are never responsible for the car. Bring your partner, a friend, or a parent along for the drive and there is nothing to arrange in advance.

An additional driver is different. Anyone who will drive the car, even for a few minutes, has to be listed on the rental agreement and approved before pickup. This is standard across the exotic rental industry, and the reason is insurance. Coverage on a six-figure car only follows an approved, named driver. Hand the keys to someone who is not on the agreement and any damage they cause can fall outside coverage and back onto you. A second driver has to meet the same bar as the main renter: a valid license, a clean driving record, and the age minimum. At Grant Motor Group that means 25, or 21 with prior GMG approval. Ask us about additional drivers when you book.

So the practical rule is simple. If your friend just wants to feel a McLaren pull hard down the Beeline, they ride as a passenger and you are done. If they want a turn driving, call us first so we can add and clear them. Do not swap seats on your own during the rental.

Which of our cars can actually seat a passenger

Most supercars are strict two-seaters, so "how many can ride along" depends entirely on the car. Four of our six cars seat exactly one passenger. Only two seat more than that.

CarTotal seatsWho fits
Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk2Driver plus one
McLaren 600LT2Driver plus one
Corvette Z06 Convertible2Driver plus one
Porsche 911 GT32Driver plus one
BMW M2 Competition4 (2+2)Driver plus up to three, small rear seats
Lamborghini Urus S5Driver plus up to four

The two-seat cars are two-seaters by design, not by trim. The McLaren 600LT is a hardcore, lightweight track car with fixed carbon racing seats and no room behind them. The Corvette Z06 is mid-engined, so the engine sits where a back seat would go. The Ferrari 458 and the winged Porsche 911 GT3 are both fixed two-seaters as well.

The BMW M2 Competition technically has four seats, in a 2+2 layout, but the two rear seats are tight and better for short hops than a long drive. The clear outlier is the Lamborghini Urus S. It is a five-door SUV, Lamborghini's first ever five-door model, and it seats five with a proper rear bench. If you need to carry more than one passenger, the Urus is the honest answer.

Can children ride along?

No. Every passenger in a Grant Motor Group car must be 18 or older, so children and teens cannot ride along, even in the five-seat Urus S. That also means Arizona's car seat and booster rules never apply to one of our rentals, because no one young enough to need one is in the car.

If the occasion is a family one, the car can still be part of the day. Have it delivered to the venue for photos, a reveal, or an arrival with an adult passenger, and keep the drive itself to adults.

Setting up your ride

For a solo adult passenger, there is nothing to plan. Pick any car in the fleet, bring your plus-one, and go. If someone else wants to drive, call ahead so we can approve them as a second driver before pickup. If your group is bigger than two, the M2 or the Urus S is the car to ask about.

The two questions that come up most on this are whether a friend can take a turn at the wheel and whether a younger family member can come along. The first needs a quick approval before pickup, because coverage only follows a driver we have named on the agreement. The second is a firm no under 18. Sorting both before you arrive keeps the day simple.

Our fleet and rates can change, so confirm the current cars and pricing when you reach out. Not sure which car fits your group? Tell us who is riding and we will match you to the right one and get any second driver cleared.
