Short answer
You cannot pick up an exotic car at a counter inside Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The airport's Rental Car Center holds only mainstream brands. Grant Motor Group brings the car to you instead: delivery anywhere in Scottsdale (a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking), and to PHX or your hotel once confirmed at booking along with the fee.
Phoenix Sky Harbor does not have a supercar rental desk. Every rental brand at PHX sits in one off-airport building, and those counters stock everyday cars, not Ferraris or Lamborghinis. To drive an exotic near the airport, you book with a specialty company like Grant Motor Group and have the car delivered to you. We hand it off at your hotel, a Scottsdale address, Scottsdale Airport (SDL), or PHX itself once the booking is confirmed. There is no line to stand in and no shuttle to catch.
PHX keeps every rental brand in one off-terminal building, and none of them rent true exotics. The Rental Car Center is a standalone facility at 1805 E. Sky Harbor Circle South, between 16th and 24th Streets, south of Buckeye Road. The airport says it "accommodates all airport rental car companies, their rental counters, and vehicles." There are no rental desks inside the passenger terminals at all.
You reach that building only by riding the free PHX Sky Train or a shuttle bus. The Sky Train's final stage, a 2.5-mile extension that added the Rental Car Center station, opened on December 20, 2022. It was a $745 million project paid for with rental car and passenger facility charges, not tax dollars. Trains run every 3 to 5 minutes, 24 hours a day. Before that stage opened, travelers relied on shuttle buses to get to their cars.
The cars waiting in that building are mainstream fleet vehicles. Think Camrys, SUVs, and pickups from the national brands. That fleet works for a business trip. It does not include a 562-horsepower Ferrari or a McLaren. So the airport is the wrong place to look if you want a supercar for the weekend. The exotic market runs on a different model, which is delivery.
There is a reason exotic companies work this way. A single car in our fleet can be worth six figures, so the cars are not parked in an open airport lot for anyone to grab. Delivery lets us check every renter's license and insurance in person and record the car's condition at handoff. It also drops the car where you actually are. That is a better fit for a Scottsdale trip than a car sitting in a garage on the far side of the PHX runways.
We deliver the car to you, so there is no counter to visit. Delivery is available anywhere in Scottsdale; a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking. That covers hotels, resorts, private homes, event venues, and Scottsdale Airport (SDL). Delivery to Phoenix Sky Harbor and other spots outside Scottsdale is available too. Delivery outside Scottsdale is confirmed at booking along with the fee.
The handoff itself is simple. We bring the car to your address at the agreed time. Then we go over the paperwork and check your license and insurance. The car's condition is checked at handoff and again at return, so there is no argument later about a mark that was already there.
Timing works around your flight. Send us your arrival details and where you are staying, and we set the handoff for after you land and settle in. You can have the car brought to your hotel the morning after arrival rather than the moment you step off the plane, which skips the airport crowds entirely. If your plans change while you are in the air, a quick text moves the delivery. The goal is that the car meets you on your schedule, not the airport's.
Our fleet ranges from a BMW M2 Competition at $399 a day up to a Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk at $1,499 a day. If you are landing at PHX with luggage and passengers, the Lamborghini Urus S is a practical first exotic. It is an SUV with real trunk space, yet it still makes 657 horsepower and runs from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. You get room for bags and a genuine supercar drivetrain in the same car. Prices can change, so confirm the current daily rate and your car's exact terms when you book.
The two paths are built for different trips. A national counter at the Rental Car Center is fast for a basic car. A delivery service is the only way to get an exotic, and it saves you the trek to the rental building. Here is how they compare.
| Feature | PHX Rental Car Center | Grant Motor Group delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Off-terminal building via Sky Train | Wherever you are (hotel, home, SDL, or PHX) |
| What you can rent | Everyday cars, SUVs, pickups | Exotics and supercars |
| How you get the car | Ride the Sky Train, wait at a counter | We bring it to you and hand it off |
| Vehicles on hand | National fleet brands | BMW M2 to Ferrari 458 |
| Best for | An everyday rental | A weekend, event, or trip in a supercar |
The main trade is time and cost against the car you actually want. If you only need basic transportation, the counter wins. If you want a Porsche 911 GT3 or a Corvette Z06 for a Scottsdale weekend, delivery is the route, because no airport counter stocks those cars.
Have three things ready and the handoff takes a few minutes: a valid license, a credit card for the hold, and your own auto insurance. Getting these lined up before you land keeps the delivery quick.
Two more terms are worth knowing before you drive off. Fuel is returned at the level you received it, the same rule mainstream rentals use. Anyone who drives must be on the rental agreement, so ask us about additional drivers when you book. Going over these at the handoff takes a minute and saves surprises at return.
International visitors are welcome. Bring a valid driver's license from your home country, plus an International Driving Permit if that license is not in English. If you are flying in, message us your flight and hotel details ahead of time. That way the car is waiting when you are ready, instead of you hunting for a rental counter that does not carry the car you booked.
If you land at Sky Harbor and want an exotic, skip the Rental Car Center and book a delivery. The airport counters only rent everyday cars, and reaching them means a Sky Train ride you do not need. Grant Motor Group brings the car to your hotel, your Scottsdale address, or PHX itself, does a full walkthrough, and hands you the keys. Line up your license, a credit card, and your insurance before you arrive, and the pickup takes minutes.
