Short answer
Grant Motor Group rents the BMW M2 Competition for $399 a day, the most affordable daily rate in its fleet. That price covers the car. Delivery is available anywhere in Scottsdale; a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking. You also need a refundable security hold, your own full-coverage insurance, and fuel returned at the level you got it.
A BMW M2 Competition rents for $399 a day at Grant Motor Group, and that is the most affordable way into our fleet. The next car up, the Corvette Z06, is $449 a day, and the prices climb from there to $1,499 for the Ferrari 458. The $399 covers the car. Delivery is available anywhere in Scottsdale; a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking. On top of the daily rate you plan for a refundable hold on a credit card, your own full-coverage insurance, and returning the tank at the level you picked it up. Multi-day trips get a discount, so the per-day cost drops the longer you keep it.
The $399 daily rate buys you the BMW M2 Competition for 24 hours. Delivery is available anywhere in Scottsdale. We drop it at hotels, resorts, private homes, events, and Scottsdale Airport (SDL). Delivery outside Scottsdale, including Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), is confirmed at booking along with the fee.
The handoff is part of the price too. Before you drive off, we walk the car with you, check your license and insurance, and go over the paperwork. That inspection protects both sides. The car's condition is checked at handoff and again at return, so a scratch that was already there does not become your bill later.
Two things are not baked into the $399. You return the car with the same amount of fuel it had at pickup, and the M2 takes premium gas. You also carry the insurance (more on that below). Keep those two in mind and the daily rate stays the daily rate, with no surprise add-ons.
Multi-day rentals lower the cost per day. A weekend runs less per day than a single Saturday, and a week runs less still. If you want a firm number for your dates, we quote it up front. Prices can change, so confirm the current rate when you book rather than trusting an old number.
The M2 sits at $399 because it is a compact sport coupe, not a six-figure supercar, yet it still drives like a real M car. BMW built the M2 Competition around the S55 engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six that makes 405 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. That is the same basic engine family as the larger M3 and M4 of its era, dropped into the smallest M body. BMW even gave the block a closed-deck design so it could handle the boost.
The numbers back up the badge. Our M2 runs the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with launch control and hits 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Top speed is 174 mph. The car also runs M compound brakes with six-piston front calipers, so it stops as seriously as it goes.
Here is how the M2 lines up against the rest of what we rent:
| Car | Daily rate |
|---|---|
| BMW M2 Competition | $399 |
| Corvette Z06 (2025) | $449 |
| Porsche 911 GT3 | $799 |
| McLaren 600LT | $999 |
| Lamborghini Urus S | $1,199 |
| Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk | $1,499 |
The M2 is the friendliest of the group for a first-timer. It is rear-wheel drive and it has a back seat and a usable trunk. One more detail: our M2 Competition runs the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with launch control, so you shift with paddles rather than a clutch pedal.
The daily rate is not the whole cost, so plan for three more items: a refundable security hold, your insurance, and any mileage over your car's cap. None of these are extra profit for us. They are the normal terms of putting a high-value car in a stranger's hands.
The security hold is a refundable authorization on your card. A hold blocks the money without taking it. As the Nomora rental deposit guide puts it, "the money is blocked but not actually taken," and it is released after a clean return. The exact hold on the M2 varies and we confirm it at booking, so we do not publish one flat figure. For scale, common industry holds on luxury cars run from about $1,000 to $3,000 and scale with the car's value. Those are common industry figures, not GMG's published numbers, so ask us for the M2's exact hold when you reserve.
A credit card is the best way to carry the hold; a debit hold ties up your own cash. Confirm card options when you book. A credit hold also refunds faster than a debit charge, which is taken as a real charge and takes longer to come back.
You also need your own full-coverage auto insurance, active and in your name, with liability high enough for an exotic. You cannot add it at pickup, so sort it out before your dates. Many standard personal policies cap out on high-value cars, so it is worth a call to your insurer to confirm your limits carry over.
Mileage is the last line item. Exotic rentals almost always come with a daily mileage cap and a per-mile fee past it. Industry caps often land somewhere near 50 to 100 miles a day, with overage in the $1 to $3 range per mile. Again, those are common industry figures, not GMG's published numbers. We confirm the M2's exact allowance when you book, and if you are planning a long day trip we can talk through the miles up front.
Renting makes sense when you want the M2 for a weekend, not a decade. A 2019 M2 Competition started at $58,900 when new. Buy one and you also take on insurance, maintenance, tires, and depreciation. A hard-driven M car eats consumables, and the S55 engine has a known crank hub quirk that tuned examples watch closely. That is a real ownership cost you skip entirely when you rent.
At $399 a day, a weekend in the M2 costs a small fraction of a monthly payment, and you walk away with none of the upkeep. That math is why a lot of our M2 renters are people deciding whether to buy one. A day or two behind the wheel tells you more than any test drive at a dealer. You get the car in Scottsdale traffic, on the highway, and on a canyon road, all without a salesperson in the passenger seat.
There is one Arizona cost worth naming, and it is the same whether you rent or own. Speeding tickets follow the driver, not the car. In a rental, the company forwards your information and the citation is mailed to you. A single speeding conviction adds three points to your Arizona MVD record, and 8 points in a 12-month window can cost you your license. The M2 makes high speed feel easy, so treat that power with respect on public roads.
For most renters the real cost of a BMW M2 in Scottsdale is the $399 daily rate, minus a multi-day discount, plus premium fuel and a refundable security hold you get back after a clean return. Line up your full-coverage insurance ahead of time, bring a credit card for the hold, and the price you see is the price you pay. Arizona and local rental taxes and surcharges are added to the daily rate and itemized on your quote. Delivery to your hotel or Scottsdale Airport is available anywhere in Scottsdale.
