How much does it cost to rent a McLaren in Scottsdale?

Updated: July 17, 2026

Short answer

A McLaren rents for $999 a day at Grant Motor Group, the daily rate on our McLaren 600LT in Scottsdale. Multi-day bookings earn a discount, and if you find the same car elsewhere for less we'll beat it. On top of the rate you carry a refundable security hold and your own full-coverage insurance, both confirmed at booking.

Renting a McLaren in Scottsdale starts at $999 a day with Grant Motor Group. That is the daily rate on our McLaren 600LT, a track-focused supercar that hits 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The rate drops per day when you book multiple days, and if you find the same car elsewhere for less, we'll beat it. A few other costs sit on top of the daily rate, and none of them are hidden: a refundable hold on your card, your own full-coverage insurance, and fuel returned at the level you got it. Arizona and local rental taxes and surcharges are added to the daily rate and itemized on your quote. This page breaks down the sticker number, what it buys, and the extras to plan for.

What does it cost to rent a McLaren per day?

A McLaren 600LT rents for $999 per day at Grant Motor Group in Scottsdale. That single number is the daily rate, before any multi-day discount and before the refundable deposit hold that every exotic rental uses. It sits in the upper-middle of our fleet, above the Porsche 911 GT3 at $799 a day and below the Lamborghini Urus S at $1,199 a day.

Here is where the McLaren lands against the rest of the lineup:

CarDaily rate
BMW M2 Competition$399
Corvette Z06 (2025)$449
Porsche 911 GT3$799
McLaren 600LT$999
Lamborghini Urus S$1,199
Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk$1,499

Prices move over time, so treat this table as a snapshot and confirm the current rate when you book. The order rarely changes, though. The McLaren is the second-priciest coupe we rent, and the reason is what the car actually is.

Why does a McLaren cost this much to rent?

The rate reflects a limited-run, carbon-tub supercar that cost roughly £185,500 new in the UK, or well over $200,000. The 600LT was built for only about a year, hand-assembled at McLaren's factory in Woking, and volume was strictly limited. Cars like that are rare, expensive to insure, and expensive to repair, which is what a daily rate has to account for.

The 600LT is the "Longtail" version of McLaren's 570S. The badge traces back to the 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, a Le Mans endurance racer that took first and second in its class. On the modern car, the name is literal: new carbon bodywork stretches the silhouette by 74mm and generates 100kg of downforce at 155 mph. Under the rear deck sits a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 making 592 hp. The result is 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, 0 to 124 mph in 8.2 seconds, and a 201 mph top speed, all sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Two features make the 600LT stand out even among supercars. First, the exhaust pipes exit through the top of the bodywork, venting up just behind your shoulders, and they can throw flames up into the air. McLaren heat-coated the middle of the rear wing so it would not melt. Second, the car is light. Ticked with every weight-saving option, its dry weight drops to 1,247 kg, about 96 kg less than the 570S it is based on. You are not renting a badge. You are renting a car engineered to feel sharp, and the rate matches the machine.

What does the $999 daily rate include?

The daily rate covers the car and our standard rental terms. Delivery is available anywhere in Scottsdale; a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking. We bring the 600LT to your hotel, resort, home, event, or Scottsdale Airport (SDL). Delivery outside Scottsdale, including Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), is confirmed at booking along with the fee.

The handoff is part of the rate. Every rental starts with a check of your license and insurance, and the paperwork. The car's condition is checked at handoff and again at return. That protects you as much as us, because a clean before-and-after record is how a deposit hold gets released fast.

Two things the daily rate does not include are fuel and your insurance. The 600LT must come back with the same fuel level it left with, and it takes premium gas. Exotic engines run high compression and forced induction, so lower-octane fuel can cause knock that damages the engine, which is why premium is required rather than suggested. Your own coverage is the other piece, covered in the next section.

What extra costs should you plan for beyond the rate?

Beyond the $999 daily rate, plan for three things: a refundable security hold, your own insurance, and fuel. None of these is a surprise fee. They are the standard structure for renting any six-figure car.

  1. Refundable security hold. We place a refundable authorization on a card in your name. A credit card is the best way to carry the hold; a debit hold ties up your own cash. Confirm card options when you book. A hold blocks funds without actually charging them. As one rental-deposit guide from Nomora puts it, the money is "blocked but not actually taken." The block is released after a clean return inspection, usually within a few days to two weeks depending on your bank. The amount varies by car and is confirmed at booking. We do not publish one flat figure. For context, industry guides put premium and luxury holds commonly around $1,000 to $3,000 or more, scaling with the car's value. Treat that as a common industry range, not Grant Motor Group's published number, and confirm the exact hold for the 600LT when you reserve.
  2. Your own full-coverage insurance. You must show full-coverage auto insurance, active and in your own name, with liability high enough for an exotic. We confirm the exact limit at booking. This cannot be added at pickup, and a basic personal policy often has value caps or vehicle-type exclusions that leave a gap on a car like this, so check with your insurer before your rental date.
  3. Fuel. Return the car at the fuel level you received it, filled with premium. Bringing it back low means a refueling charge, which is standard across exotic rentals.

The 600LT also carries a Reserve 2 days, get the 3rd free promo, so a three-day booking runs $999 times two, and we offer a price-match guarantee: find the same car elsewhere for less and we'll beat it. If you have a competing offer, send it over.

To rent the 600LT you need to be at least 25, or 21 with prior approval, hold a valid license with a clean record, and show proof of insurance. Out-of-state visitors are welcome, and international drivers can rent with a valid driver's license from their home country, plus an International Driving Permit if that license is not in English.

Is renting a McLaren in Scottsdale worth $999 a day?

If you want a genuine driver's supercar for a weekend, a shoot, or a special day, the 600LT at $999 a day is one of the sharper values in our lineup. It costs less per day than the Lamborghini Urus S and the Ferrari 458, yet it is arguably the most focused car of the three, a rare Longtail built for the track and street. Buying one means six figures up front plus insurance, storage, and depreciation. Renting hands you the exact experience for a day rate, delivered to your door in Scottsdale.

The honest way to decide: add the daily rate, the fuel, and your insurance situation, then confirm the deposit hold for your dates so there are no surprises. If those numbers work, the 600LT is a lot of car for the money. Ready to lock in a date or get an exact quote with the current hold amount?
