Short answer
Yes. Grant Motor Group rents exotics for prom, but the person who signs and drives must be at least 25, or 21 with prior approval, hold a valid license, and carry comprehensive insurance in their own name. So a parent or older adult books it, and we deliver anywhere in Scottsdale; a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking.
Yes, you can rent an exotic car for prom in Scottsdale, and Grant Motor Group does it often. The catch is not the car. It is the driver. The person who signs the rental and gets behind the wheel has to be at least 25 years old, or 21 with prior approval from us, with a valid license and their own comprehensive insurance. Most high school seniors are 17 or 18, so the smart play is simple: a parent or an older adult books the car, and we deliver it to your door, the venue, or a photo spot anywhere in Scottsdale; a delivery fee applies and is confirmed at booking.
The renter and driver must be 25, or 21 with our approval, so a prom-age student cannot rent or drive the car themselves. That is our policy, and it lines up with the wider exotic-rental industry, where 25 is the common floor for true supercars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren. On top of age, every driver has to show a valid license, a clean driving record with no major violations (a DUI, reckless driving, or a recent suspension is usually disqualifying), and comprehensive auto insurance that is active and in their own name. That insurance cannot be bought at pickup, so line it up first.
Arizona law makes the age point even clearer. A teen with a Class G graduated license can start driving at 16, but does not get a full unrestricted Class D license until 18, per the Arizona Department of Transportation. During the first six months on a Class G license, a teen cannot drive with more than one passenger under 18 unless those riders are siblings or a licensed parent is in the seat beside them. A carload of friends on prom night is exactly what that rule blocks. So even setting our rental policy aside, the newest drivers are not cleared to shuttle a group around.
Passengers also have to be 18 or older, so the car is not group transport for a carload of underclassmen. That leaves two clean options. One, a parent or older relative who meets the requirements rents the car and drives, with the student riding along if they are 18. Two, we deliver the car for photos and the arrival shot with an approved adult driver, and the student poses with it without holding the keys. Either way, the adult who signs is the driver of record, and any ticket or damage tracks back to them, not the rental shop.
For most prom nights, three picks cover it, and the right one depends on your budget and whether you want a coupe for two or room for more than two. Here is the full lineup and daily rates. Rates move, so confirm current pricing when you book.
| Car | Daily rate | Why it works for prom |
|---|---|---|
| BMW M2 Competition | $399/day | Entry point. A 405 hp coupe that looks and sounds serious without a supercar price. |
| Corvette Z06 (2025) | $449/day | The value shock. 670 hp, 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds, for the price of a loaded sedan. |
| Porsche 911 GT3 | $799/day | Motorsport pedigree and a 9,000 rpm scream for the enthusiast student. |
| McLaren 600LT | $999/day | A track-bred Longtail with top-exit exhausts for maximum drama. |
| Lamborghini Urus S | $1,199/day | The group pick for adult riders. A 657 hp super-SUV that seats five. |
| Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk | $1,499/day | The photo car. A widebody Ferrari that stops traffic in a parking lot. |
The Corvette Z06 is the standout value. Its 5.5-liter LT6 V8 makes 670 horsepower, which Motor Authority notes is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever put in a production car, and it hits 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The same review says the Z06 "undercuts Italian, German, and European rivals in price" while matching or beating them on performance. For a first exotic on a big night, it delivers supercar drama at the low end of our rates.
If four riders who are all 18 or older are coming along, the Lamborghini Urus S is the practical answer. It is a five-door SUV with a 657 hp twin-turbo V8 that still runs 0 to 60 in about 3.5 seconds, so nobody gets left behind and the car still feels special. If it is just two of you and the photos matter most, the Ferrari is the move.
Prom is a photo event, and this is where an exotic earns its keep. We deliver anywhere in Scottsdale, including homes, resorts, and the restaurant or venue where the group meets, as part of our white-glove handoff. That means the car can be parked and gleaming in the driveway when the photos start, with no scramble to a rental counter. The handoff includes a quick license and insurance check, and the car's condition is checked at handoff and again at return, which protects everyone.
For pure camera presence, the Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk is hard to beat. The base 458 is already a landmark car, a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 making 562 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, the engine that made its name before the 488 GTB replaced it. The Liberty Walk widebody then adds riveted bolt-on over-fenders that widen the stance and drop the car into an aggressive, lowered look. In a prom photo, that stance reads instantly. It looks like a show car because, in effect, it is one.
A quieter, more affordable alternative is the BMW M2 Competition at $399 a day. Its 405 hp turbo inline-six and compact shape photograph clean and aggressive, and the lower rate leaves budget for dinner and the rest of the night. You do not need the most expensive car in the fleet to get a great shot. You need one that fits the student and the setting.
Plan for more than the daily rate, because a few standard rental items apply to every exotic. Here is where the real budget lives.
None of this is meant to scare you off. It is the normal shape of renting a six-figure car for a night, and knowing it upfront keeps the evening smooth.
The fastest way to ruin prom is a criminal traffic charge, and Arizona's are stricter than many drivers expect. Going more than 20 mph over the posted limit is not a simple ticket. Under A.R.S. 28-701.02 it is criminal excessive speeding, a class 3 misdemeanor that creates a permanent record, not a civil citation. Reckless driving is worse, a class 2 misdemeanor. In a rented exotic that is easy to accelerate, the gap between "fun" and "charged" closes fast, so the adult driver should keep it calm.
The insurance and damage rules give another reason to drive gently. The renter is responsible for damage that happens in their care, from curbed wheels to scratches to collisions, billed at actual repair cost plus an administrative fee. The security hold is the buffer, and it comes back only after a clean return. Prohibited use, like racing or speed events, can void the insurance and leave the driver on the hook. A slow, cool cruise for photos and a nice dinner is the whole point anyway.
If a photo-enforcement camera or an officer does flag the car, the citation follows the driver, not Grant Motor Group. In a rental, we forward the driver's information, and the ticket and any license points land on that person. That is one more reason the adult who signs should be the one who is comfortable, insured, and steady behind the wheel.
